lid on cotournix brooder?

Mine are 2 weeks old today and I just clipped their wings. I use a large plastic tote with the middle part cut out of the lid and lay an expandable screen over the top. Last week they started jumping up and bumping the screen so I laid a heat lamp on the screen so they can't move it to get out. The lamp isn't on just laying on top for a weight.

I don't clip their wings. They are coturnix... Yes they can get out but really don't go far unless the dog catches it before you do. Just be fast when feeding them and provide them with their dust baths and they are happy birds
