Hi there,
We’ve had a few roosters in amongst our hens over the last 10 years or so. Our latest boy started to attack me, more than once for no reason, drawing blood, and we decided he had to go.
The backyard has become a lot more peaceful and quieter since he’s been gone, but I can’t work out of the hens are depressed or are loving the serenity. They seem flat. Has anyone else experienced this and will they get over it if they are sad? We are not getting another rooster as we think our neighbours are enjoying life without the 3am wake up call!
