life expectancy for ducks

Quote:
Really. The man I got mine from (who literally has hundreds) said he still has some of his original Drakes that were over 20yrs. old

I had two muscovy ducks last year , they were given to me by a lady my mom had bought a goat from, well they didn't ever lay eggs. I gave em to a friend of mine that is making a pond for them. They had black wings and black on their back's half way down and orange feet but their bill was white like it had been scratched off . The bill by her face was like a green and mid way down it had faded so that it was white the rest of the way down . Does that mean that they were both too old to lay eggs?

Soooo many varying answered on the web to life span...
I am getting the feeling that if you really look after your duck and treat it like a pet then it will live a long and happy life....10yrs+
If you get a duck and keep it in unclean small enclosed conditions and feed it unhealthy duck food then it's life will be dramatically reduced.

In dogs Dobermans live to an average of 9 years...young for a dog. My doberman lived 15.5 years due to it's healthy life style.
The same can be applied to humans I suppose.
