Life from the Parsonage - A Journal of our Journey.

Parson's Wife :

Thank you! I have missed this place! Really! We enjoyed our chickens, the Rev. asked me just yesterday when did I want to start on the coop?! I mentioned yesterday would be a good time!

Haha, I hope it starts soon! I want to see more pictures, and I bet you miss your chickens quite a lot.

Where in the world do I start? My how many changes have been about us!
We moved to a new church, and lived in the fellowship hall while we had to remodel the parsonage. It was in such a state of disrepair.
Taking a break under a shade tree a few weeks ago (yes, we have TREES!!) I told them to remember when we moved to this church, that it was the hottest Summer on record.
And it was.
We have been in the parsonage about a month now, still work to do, but I think it's just lovely. We put in a lot of long hot hours here, it's our sweat, and our labor, so how much sweeter the reward?!
The Rev. has taken to this land with such an exuberance that it really surprises me! He says, "It is a feast for mankind's eyes!" I could have told him that...

The children have enjoyed learning to climb trees, and what a treat to be able to play outside again in the evening!! One of our 1st nights here we sat out till 1:00 AM!! Just because we could.
We have marked out the lines of where the coop will go, can't wait to begin! We will need to 'grow' our flock, but I am mighty fond of the hatching process!!

We've had ups & downs, we've had 2 visits to the ER. Once for my son who needed stitches when he collided with the back of a mini vans windshield wiper (don't even ask..he just can. God love him!) and then once I had to go.
The new congregation is small, but we are going to grow, and what special folks they are, we already love them dearly!
We did, in the midst of the move manage to get our daughter to Nationals (she won 1st at State in instrumentals)(her & my son placed 2nd in multiple vocals, but only the 1st placed received the invitation to Nationals) so off to Dallas, TX we went...we had rented a big moving van, moved our possesions, unloaded, grabbed some clothes & took off to TX.
She did an incredible job, I would have been scared to death...she walked out smiling, laughing with the sound man, sat and played her heart out (piano) and she placed 2ND!!!! What a talented dear!
My son hollered, "Rock the house Sis!" and she did! We left there and returned home to begin our new work.
So much to tell, but I have not the time...
Got the Rev. off to work, (he's had to get a another job) the children are about to begin school (we still homeschool), and breakfast dishes are staring at me!

Thank you. Yes, no more Delta, that's good & bad. We always enjoy where the Lord places us. Good good people there, precious memories. Of course, new works are always an adventure, and it certainly has been! Already the stories have piled up! The Rev. is sleeping with a cpac machine now, so his sleep walking & talking has become nearly non-existant! lol

Wonderful news!!

Last night the Rev. got a phone call from a minister friend who pastors a church in the neighboring area....he said his church had gotten a new sound system, and did we want the old (new by ANYONE's standards but theirs!!) system??
Yes, Sir! We did!

Loaded the family in the car and off we went! Why there's not hardly any dust on them! I manage to find dust on my new from the box items when their still in the box!! What a blessing! May the Lord bless him & his church abundantly!
We can't wait to have them up and running, excited they arrived before our benefit singing! Now, maybe my ole voice will sound a little better (

) well, it was a thought!

Our temperatures have been perfect! 65* just where I like it, need a sweater for the day, and coat for the night...but not freezing.

Here's another lovely news item...the Rev. said he found where we can buy DUCKS!! I dearly loved my ducks...Mr. Quackers will forever be in our hearts! The scamp!
He also said, (in a quieter tone) that he was hoping to go on the hunting trip to Wyoming again this year. I was certain my hearing was slipping...surely, surely! the Rev. wasn't trying to bribe me??

It did seem mighty 'convenient' that ducks were mentioned first....

Yardsale is in the works, a Saturday only. Somehow, all those precious and dear..."couldn't possibly be replaced" items lost their appeal to me as we unloaded from the big truck, now...I've just been staring at boxes of things that I just plain do NOT want anymore.
I found out that the Rev. is much more willing to assist in the yardsale since he came up missing a few things from the last one I had...

amazing....

Church services this week-end will be a power house! I know this...just feel it...can't wait!
Well, I've got to finish pricing items...do a little schoolwork, fix lunch, begin supper, laundry....you know...all the exciting things each of you do on a regular basis! It's always there waiting on us!

Ya'll come
