I have been accused of cheating! I was flabbergasted, floored, stunned, and then I got mad. Now, I didn't huff up and have a hissy fit....though the one in the privacy of my bedroom where I was explaining to the Rev. what happened, may have sounded like that....
We had a wonderful harvest party! Great Fun! And for the 1st time I had asked another person to be in charge of the scavenger hunt...I wanted to play this time....I WON! WHOOHOO!!
Even though I had to disqualify myself.....because....well here's the deal...
We divided up into 3 teams....all other teams were adults with one child...I was the adult with 2 children...anyway....
Our team color was orange...you were given a clue, and you had to figure out the meaning, then go to where you thought it meant, locate your color, and the object, and place them in the goody bag. We were ZOOMING! Awesome...till #7...we ran out of clues...she had messed up on our color, we were short one...we wound up at the end of the race, and she restarted us on #8....at that time we had dumped our bag, she had examined the contents, then took my bag....we were sent into the foyer to await the #8 clue, she then handed me a bag, and as she was handing me the bag, she stuck what was in her hand in there....she didn't even realize what she was doing (I think...hmmm), nor did I at the time!
We went on....raced...well, they did, I was going slower about clue # 10 she had hid these things all over these 3 acres...and we were hunting with flashlights!
Found the last clue, and took our bag to her....she reached in and pulled out a clue from the other two teams (black and yellow)
which was instant disqualification. EXCEPT, she put them in there!
IF you take the clues from the other team they won't find their next clue...it's cheating. She did it last year, and I had to disqualify her team...soooo
I, very nicely, reminded her about the foyer bag exchange...and she had no memory. So, instead of having a fit, calling her a cheat, I said, well, I guess we're disqualified. Which made me mad, and the boys I was with upset...we had won. They had worked hard. Poor kids, there was lot's of candy, and laughter, they got over it...until the next two teams came up calling us cheaters!
I said it....yes, I did! No we are not. We
did not do it...and left it at that. Gosh, that rubs the wrong way though....
Oh well, onward and upward...heh?!
We had a hayride, roasted hotdogs, ate lots of sweets, and the hunt, then we settled down by the campfire and sang songs till we were hoarse! My little ones had a ball! My little ones roasted marshmellows, didn't eat a one...but liked to roast them anyway..s'more's, I was wishing I had my popcorn popper I used to have, it was old (I gave it to my brother, he loved it) it was the kind you held in the fireplace or a stove...kinda hard to describe, anyway...lots of fun. I promise, I got over it pretty quick....I dearly love to see folks enjoying theirselves!
Revival coming...starts this Wednesday...I have an English paper due....a quiz, and some discussion questions...and this Saturday is the "Poor boy Supper". Expecting around 200 folks...
Well, I've got to get myself going...I'm "company cleaning"....
Anyone do that? I mean, I like things clean...but there's just certain things I do when I've got company coming....
Ya'll come
