I have 10....I repeat 10 beautiful, perfect, lovely little chicks!
I really couldn't believe it...once they got started...they just didn't stop! One little chick died in the shell...it had pipped...quite a bit...but just didn't get out. One egg just nothing.
10!

It has been crazy here, I wanted to post sooner, but whew!
Will take pics after supper...which is what I'm putting on the table as I type...
Will get back later this evening!

Hello,

Here are photo's of the newest babies at our house!
These are the chicks from the eggs mom gave me.

Oh yes, this is the cake I made for the baby shower this week-end!
Kinda frustrated with it...never could get my icing smooth....was visiting with 2 church ladies while icing...that probally didn't help....

(Hoping to make my own soon! More details in the coming weeks!)


I love the little chick with the stripes. My husband informed me that he has sold six chicks for me...$2 per little fluff ball. (

) I didn't think I would feel so sad!

What ever happened with your silkies? Did they turn out white or buff? Do you or have you shown any update pics? Hope things are going well. Julie

They are growing...well out more than up...lol
I'm going to try to take pics tom.
Buff, partridge, blue splash, and white w/ splash spots....one is really spectacular...to me anyway.
The blue splash is the calmest...the buffs are the perkiest...and that's not saying much for silkies... I love their personalities though.

They are in the coop w/ the RIR and Dominiques, for now...will seperate as they get older.
They love the green grass, and seem to like chasing those demonic mosquitoes!

I don't even get to sit out in the evenings and enjoy watching them "do their thing"!

My little Yorkies are loving these chicks...my boy dog chases them around sometimes....never hurts them...still don't trust him completely...course he's the same size as them!

And we are pretty certain that our little girl dog is going to have puppies! If we are correct...due date is May 19.

Gwen like me you must have been very busy yesterday. We are leaving on the cruise tomorrow so I am packing today. If you don't get a chance to post pics it will be okay. I will keep looking till I go to bed tonite. I am going on a feild trip close by with Grands this evening to WorkingCows Dairy. Looking forward to that.
We had a great church service last nite. We licensed a young man in our Church to Preach. I say young, in his thirties. Then another family called from the hospital at 9pm and had some cookies they wanted the Pastor to come by and pick up they had bought for him. We didn't get home till 10pm

Cute little juvies. Amazing how they continue to change. They won't need any nest boxes till they are around 7 months. Silkies don't lay as early as most breeds
