Life from the Parsonage - A Journal of our Journey.

that's our girl, you are definitely rebounding after the last few weeks!
I so enjoy your posts. It is good to vent and not have it come back to you at the next service now isn't it? ha ha I am envious of your sister............oooh, make a spot for me at the alter on the kneeler!
I told my dh, if we ever won the lottery(never can remember to purchase a ticket) that I wanted a Barnes&Noble attached to the new house. ha ha ha
I just had the nerve to go through one room of books and take them to the local second hand book store I told them I didn't want anything for them but they insisted on giving me book credit. I told them to give them to an old friend who frequents their store as a surprise. Well, I got the surprise...proof of what goes around comes around...this friend is an artist and when she received the book credit..I had no idea what it amounted to...she sent me a thank you note that said it was a lifetime of book exchange for her and she told them to let me have any painting of hers I wanted in return!! To me that was a wonderful gift!

I LOVE books too, old or new! I can't walk by old cookbooks especially...We have a wall of bookshelves on either side of our fireplace and another floor to ceiling bookshelf in this room.
We have two more weeks till school starts. My son is going into 1st grade. I'm anxious because we still don't know who he has for a teacher. It's a new school for us. I think eager is maybe a better word than anxious.
Sorry about Chic Chic.
Hope you get back to school soon! I'm slowly working toward getting certified to teach. I'll probably be old enough to retire by the time I finish! I haven't done anything in 2 years since I went back to work full time.
Hugs! Sounds like you're as busy as always if not more so.

So glad to find fellow booklovers. Ozark what a generous thing you did, and yes, you were blessed for it....would love to see the painting you pick!

Henrietta, I too am working toward my degree in teaching...English to be exact. This is my short term goal.

AND....I heard you mention the word fireplace....

enjoy all those rainy days with a fire crackling in the background!! I grew up with one, and I really do miss it.
I will tell you something I did on vacation. I walked past a bookstore, with a huge hanging sign that read, GOING OUT OF BUSINESS, you don't know the battle I had! My children were so anxious to get on to the zoo....

I love the zoo, but man, still think about that sign....

Ha, I know the feeling about walking by a bookstore that is going out of business!! That happened to me once in a small town, I had NO CASH on me and they didn't take a debit card

I think it was a blessing in disguise.

I would love to have a fireplace, too!
When we repainted the living room about -5 years ago my dh put all my books into boxes and took them to the basement as he was tearing down the huge bookcase. The books are still in the basement in boxes I cannot lift. :thun I think he did it on purpose

Some of them are autographed by the authors!!

I will have to have him bring them up but have to get a bookcase built first!

LOL, you are a stronger woman than I! I would not have made it past that sign at all.

We rarely use the fireplace for a fire. We have a wood burning stove for heat that is in the basement. I do sometimes light large candles in the fireplace which looks nice but not like a real fire. It just doesn't seem to be very efficient here. And with a 6 year old who never stops moving it may not be very safe right now either!

I am definitely a book-a-holic.

Car rides, appointments, you name it, its rare for me not to have a book along. With four of the five kids out of the house, I am lobbying to use a spare room as my library...
Fireplaces....sigh....even a electric or one that uses that kind of "gel" would do for me!

Hello,
Had a lovely week-end...hope all ya'll did too. This week have encountered some difficulties...my mother always told me that intelligent people have a good grasp of vocabulary words...soooo....I was able to have a fit and no one really knew....lol....actually was installing new virus protection on my computer and what a rigamarole I had to go thru....2 days...NO EXAGGERATION....2 days! It had better be worth it's money!
Here's a photo for ya'll...of my son's birthday cake...he wanted a dinosaur theme....ya know...nothing to great for your kiddoes....
Well, already feeling rushed...did I mention my in-laws were coming? Yup, and I've got menu's to plan...plus not sure how long...don't mean that tacky...but I'm booked tight!

Looking forward to the clothesline fair...will be going home to visit with family again...if all goes well, it may not!
I always have the childrens portraits drawn, well worth the money.
And they get little leather bracelets with their names on them....I've been buying those since they were tiny...you should see the little ones I have...

(Rushed on this one...but he didn't mind.)
Chickens, life is pretty easy for them isn't it? Just basic care, and they will do their best for you. Exciting note here....this summer has seen a dramatic decrease in green tree frogs! Yeah, the plagues are lifting!! Thank God for chickens! Anyone else notice decrease in pests?
I realize the snakes are taking a toll on them...but the waterbugs have decreased as well!
Oh, I'm still getting an occasional squash from the garden! Long live the squash...zucchini's were disappointing...but the yellow squash are going the distance!
My apple tree is heavy...poor small little scrub, it's the best harvest so far...again...gold star to the chickens...(I toss waste around the bottom of the tree!)
What an exciting time around the Rev.'s farm...
Lovely drizzle has fell all day long, cool, only about 80*!
Well, lots more to say, and no time to tell it....
Ya'll come
The Parsons wife

Morning Gwen glad to see ya up and running. Work never ends for us Mom's. My last week was taken up with my daughter's wedding reception (they got married last Dec and the reception was the 16th Aug). If I never see a hersey's kiss again I won't mind at all, 450 rose kiss buds to make and then to take apart so the candy didn't go to waste and trust me I was not letting $40 of candy go to waste but someone else will have to eat them I can't stand to look at them right now LOL.

Again so glad to hear all is well with you and the Rev. Enjoy the company.
