Lifespan

How long can I expect my 2 chickens to live? Barring any sickness, diseases,predators,barbeques,spits, or cooking pots?

I really have no idea. I am sure someone else does though.

Just wondering, ours are about 7 months old right now.

I have co-worker that keeps his til they die and his usually are about 7 years. But at that point they barely lay.

I had a barred rock hen that was at least 10 years old before the fox got her. She didnt lay alot, but when she did her eggs were all wringled like a piece of paper balled up..........

funny thing is we have 2 roosters. we had hoped for at least one hen, but noooooo.....so, no eggs, just lotsa rooster poop, wake up call at 6 a.m.ish, These are the first chickens we have ever had. And seeing as we live in the city, if you would have told us 8 months ago that we would havechickens in Oct we would have laughed. Of course we didn't think we would have a hedgehog, a betta fish, a turtle, to go along with our 2 dogs, either....

OOOOo I want a hedge hog!!!! Those things are so very cute!!!!

Been advised they live until 7-10 years.
