Light and feed?

My chicks are 1 month 2 weeks old. When I looked into there box they panting, so I raised my light 2 inches. The tempature is 80 - 85 degrees. Could they go with out the light? I am going to check to see what the low is to night. They are on southren states brand medicated feed, I have a bag of dumor no-medicated. Have they built up a resitance yet?

The low is 59 degrees.

at 6wks old you can turn the light off.if they are panting that ,eans they are to hot.turn your light off they dont need it.

Thanks, I am going down there right now. I didn't know if if 60 was to cold. Pretty soon they will be moving outside.

Just turned off the light. I am going to go down to the garge later an check on them.
