I just bought 5 chicks today, 2 bared rocks and 3 road island reds. The only question I have right now is do I leave the heat lamp on over night? They are in the house.

Basically you want to start them out in their first week after hatching at 90F and lower 5 degrees every week. They'll need the lamp for at least a month after hatching and however longer it takes until it matches your home at night.

Picy goodness is necessary, yanno!

TrystInn is right. They should be at 90-95 in their first week of life then reduced by 5 degrees each week till they can withstand 70 degrees. Have fun
