Light brahma pullet or cockerel?

Although in thepciture its face does look slightly red I say pullet for the second one. You should see if they will take your cockerels and give you pullets, especially if you paid more to get pullets. Not all places do, but hopefully they will.

Chickennnns I did email. And they were surprised that they could make at least two mistakes since they said they were sexed. They also messed up on breed too. Sigh. I am in jeresey and it seemed to be nice to have a farm/ hatchery close by but now. I see that sexing is not accurate and I understand that. Will give alittle more time and more pics will come. Thanks

Did they tell you what breed they gave you by mistake.. just curious. Hopefully they will swap you for pullets.

They gave me a CQ instead of BO. but when I asked if it was a roo sent them pic they said it was to young to tell. But they were supposed to be pullets since that is what I checked off on the order. So now it is too young confusing hmmmm alittle contradictory. The pic is under buff orp too or hen 3 days ago if you wanna take a look

Okay I will se I can find it. And if they were suppose to be sexed as chicks, then it should be really easy to tell once they get a little older. Sounds fishy to me.

I think both are pullets, but I'm a tad unsure about the first one. Good luck! I had a Light Brahma with quite a comb who turned out to be female, so there's hope. :)

Ok here are better pics of combs.

This little "gal" was sexed as a chick...but her noises are deep and very different from our other chicks at 8 weeks. She's also kind of a jerk. Always has been. Not the top of the pecking order, but very bossy! Entertaining for sure, but not sweet or warm with humans. I've never had chickens before. She's our only light brahma. Any chance our Mabel is a roo?

ive done a lot of business with jersey chickens and usually they are spot on. Ive never dealt with their internet sales since I only live 5 minutes from them. on a side note. all light brahmas ive owned have had a lot of black on their tails and neck. they both look too young to sex but whatever they turn out to be im sure youll enjoy them
