I am so in love with the huge light brahmas and wondered if there was any way to have just one of them with my bantams??

I just have one coop so they would have to share but just wondered if it was a bad idea to to have such a large breed with the small bantams.

I can only have a very small flock here where I live just 4 lil chickens!! I might sneak a couple extra considering I have 18 chicks right now but once I figure out males/females I will thin out the flock .......

I just wouldn't want to endanger the small bantams

thanks

Most of the brahmas are so laid back they should do fine with birds of a different feather; so long as you take the time to do proper introductions.

I mix all different breeds of birds ranging from my one-pound OEGB to my Orpington and Brahmas and they get along just fine. Yet, I do let them free-range. If your birds are fenced in close to one another you may have some issues, as birds tend to fight more in those conditions. If you are worried there are always light Brahma bantams.

I have noticed that my birds seem to hang out with birds of the same or similar breed. So you may want to get it a friend.

I have noticed that most of my birds hang around with the birds of the same breed too. I am in agreement with the idea of getting another brahma or at least a standard sized bird to go along with it and the bantams. Good luck!
