light bulbs

Ok I'll post that link and some of the facts that lilred pointed as well as some of mine own about how many things require other kinds of light. I will also add frostbites predicament with them not working in the cold.

This needs to be stopped and brought to everyones attention for several reasons. Fluoresant bulbs do not last as long as they did when first put on the market (coming from consumers who have kept record) and they cost more to replace which will counter act any energy savings they may achieve. Also when broken they are considered hazardous waste so they are not cutting back on polution only changing the type. To add to this there are many applications of incadecant bulbs in which fluorecant bulbs are useless. One man from Fairbanks, AK stated that he needs a light in his chicken coop but the winters get to cold for a fluoresant bulb to turn on. Incadecant bulbs are also used in heat lamps (used with young poultry, lambs, goat kids, and reptiles to mention a few) where other alternatives are generaly not cost effective. Please pass this around and get it seen before our government makes another mistake and Mr. Edison rolls over in his grave.

Get a strand of christmas lights and put it in there. You don't need a lot of light.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS WANT PRODUCE THE NEEDED AMT. OF HEAT, THIS IS WHAT I USE IN MY BROODERS INSTEAD FOR AN 8-12.00 HEAT LAMP BULB.

By all means copy and paste and post to your facebooks, twitter, whatever you have. If you can get it up you are more than welcome to use my version. If you want to tweek it to make it your own, by all meens do so, we just need to get this bill stopped or revoked soon after it takes effect. It worries me that most of my generation (early 20s) is to lazy to stand up for what they beleive is right, I'm on both sides of the hippy spectrum if that makes sense at all, lol.

lol...hippy version...both sides...makes sense to me..I'm a 70's child...loved that time!
I wonder why you couldn't get that to work?
Maybe you could post your thoughts as you have here, then, suggest that they google, or what ever they use, to go look up an article on it, there are a few out there. I just really liked this one I found, told a lot about both sides. Ahh, there's the both sides..

That's always a good thing.
I am going to start buying bulbs though, I know I am going to be needing them through 2012, and further on, for hatched babies chicks, or quail, I even hatched ducks and turkey's for someone. They do well in these lights today.

Stores around here are getting very low in stock. I went into one store only to find 1 box of 100 watt, when I picked it up I could hear the broken glass

...now I know why that box was still there. I have managed to get a small stock pile, but I really wanted to fill up the spare bathroom with bulbs..

They've been low here for a long time! Wal Mart just went through a remodel about a year ago, and I thought it was because of that. I guess not! It is getting frustrating !! I do use a few of the long life bulbs, but I don't like the idea of being "forced" to use something.

Our trash pick up is a good example. We used to have a small green box for recycle, then it changed to a huge blue can. Which you cannot return! If you try and cancel the recycle pick up, they will shut off your water!

A few months ago, just before seeing this, I got 2 real nice heat lamps for reptiles, with special bulbs, incandescent, to use on my brooders. They are adjustable with dimmer switch. Now I need to stock up on those bulbs!

We are a single income family of 3, and my son is 14 now and getting expensive! LOL! And I really hate the idea of having to spend $$ on something like a light bulb and stock up because they just wont exist anymore. It just seems so insane and unreal.
