I have a hen that is laying really light colored yolks. Like milky white. I’ve changed her feed. Giving her rumor laying pellets and giving her whole corn. Nothing seems to work. Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi welcome to BYC! How long has she been laying like that? I’ll have a moderator move this to a different catergory so more adequate (on this subject) will see it :)

I tried carrots. Didn’t help. Did I mention that my hen is a golden comet. Is this normal for this breed ?

You said you changed her feed to Dumor. What were you previously feeding? Purina adds marigold extract to produce colored yolks: "
Rich yellow yolks
Added marigold extract produces deep, yellow egg yolks"

I found a decrease in yolk color & feather color when switching from Purina Layer Feed to Purina Flock Raiser, but I prefer the higher protein of the flock raiser.
Dark green leafy veg will help to color the yolks.

Layer feed before switching. But I will try the green leafy vegetables. I was told whole corn would help. Is that true ?

I don't know about the corn. I live in the South where it's hot & humid nearly year round & have always heard corn heats them up, so I don't feed corn - though its likely in the feed. I know years ago I had red-factor canaries & kept their color up with paprika, chili powder, cayenne I'd buy a bottle & dump it in the bag of seed. Is there a reason you stopped the Purina?
