Light keeps burning our in incubator

The second time now that it has done that. They are suposed to last 1 1/2 years and the one I had just started using a couple days ago.
Can light bulbs ware out by just sitting around? cause I have had them for a few years now in the package.
They always turn of and the temp. goes down to like 30o C and then they come back on this happens for like 2 days and then they burn out.
Is this the incubator or the light bulbs?

I'm not an incubator expert but I know a little bit about light bulbs.

What kind of bulb is it? You might have a short in the electrical. Is your incubator homemade? Arcing between the electrical contacts could be a possibilty.

It is not a homemade incubator.
It is a DuraMax 40w bulb

Have you tried some newer fresher bulbs the ones not made in China, or you could test for voltage surges in the outlet.
