Light Sussex Roosters or Pullets?

One last thing at 10 weeks of age both already had large pinkish combs and wattles,below are images, does this mean that they may still be roos? Their combs and wattles have not changed in size but have turned red recently.

Compare the shape of the saddle feathers on these guys, and the lavender chicken in the background of the last pic. Its all in the shape. Pullets/Hens will always have rounded saddle feathers that poof, Cockerels/Roosters will always have pointed saddles that flow. Your Sussex' are pullets.
And I agree, all black feathers, no matter if their on a male bird or female bird, will sheen. My black ee, who's a hen, sheens all over her body. My spangled hamburg hens sheen on their feather tips...

I was told many weeks ago, that I had two light sussex pullets. They have neither laid eggs or started crowing yet, and are now 7 months of age. One has started to look like a cockerel, and the other looks like a cockerel with a fat butt of a hen. Please advise me as to the genders of both chickens as I am at a loss.

Evely, what happened in the end? anyone laying eggs or crowing yet ?

One started crowing. not sure on who it is, and both are starting to act like cockerels, for eg. wanting to mount hens. Both are starting to look more like big fat cockerels with big fat arses.
