Light sussex undetermined gender.

I have a light Sussex chicken that's around 6 months old, big.comb but slightly smaller than some other breeds I raised with him. I haven't really seen him get active with any hens but I've seen one of the others try mounting him. I thought he was a roo but I'm now unsure of if he is a big her with a big comb.

Cockerel, & he's not pure Light Sussex.
 
I did and can't see anything, but it's white on white, so that is very difficult to see. You can look the bird over yourself, though. Does it have the thin, pointed feathers in the saddle area? Take a close look and see what you think.
I can compare him to other breed of roosters I have.
