Light Sussex

Got two light Sussex was told they were pullets…. But , 18 weeks well born November . I’m not so sure now. Tails are showing that silvery blue black colour. Both of them

Both are pullets. The dark sheen is completely normal for healthy birds, means diddly squat for gender.
You would see male type comb and waddles, hackles and saddle feathers, crowing and stances if they were male.

Hatched 5th November. Looked it up so they are just 18wks

Cockerels can crow as young as 4 weeks, it depends on the bird. :]
