This is my setup and how bright it is when it’s dark outside. Is this enough to get laying going? I can’t get my quail to lay?

Some things that will stop them from laying:
-Not enough light. They need 14-16 hours of light per day to lay.
-Too many males. The ideal ratio is one male to five hens.
-Predator hanging around. This could be just about anything such as rats, snakes, cats, dogs, raccoons, possums, hawks, weasels, ferrets, etc.
-Change. Coturnix do not like change. If you move them or make any serious change to their environment you can expect about a two week break from laying.

The brightness of your light looks fine. How old are they?

They are almost 15 weeks. 1/7 ratio. 16 hours of light. In garage so predators are not an issue. I’m so frustrated. I don’t know what could be the reason.

It could just be the season. They take a lot longer to start laying in the winter. I have to admit, though, by 15 weeks, they should be laying.

Do they have a place to get their feet off of the wire? Do they have a dirt bath?
