I have heard that as the winter months approach, egg production will slow down unless the chickens get a certain amount of light. It is getting dark about 8:00 here now, and our egg production has slowed. How much light is necessary? Does anyone leave the light on all night?

You don't need to leave the light on all night ,just get you a timmer to let the light come on about 6am and off about 8am,and Afternoon you do the same when it get dark, say between 7pm and 8pm.because you still need the birds to have theirsleep and rest time.you might have to get two timmers if you can't find one works for both shifts.
Good luck.
