Lights in my coop

Just finished the coop today 5 week old chick's it there for the first time. I had few a radiator tool they are totally temperate self sufficient. Also I stung up some Christmas lights in the cup so they can see. Mistake?

I just worry about broken glass if they are able to get to the bulbs. They will peck at anything. Good luck with your flock and congrats on the new build..

Sometimes light can be stressful on chickens. So just keep an eye on them to make sure they're not stressed out.

Probably, yes.
They don't need lights...coop should have enough windows for natural light.
Those strings of lights could be a hazard...as can 24/7 lighting.

They don't likely need heat either...those radiators are pretty safe IF the birds cannot touch them. I believe the surface can get pretty hot..and you sure don't want them pooping on it.

Post pics of your coop and run for more specific assessments and suggestions.

You should not have anything touching the radiator, including shavings. Can you put it on top of maybe a slab of wood or concrete? You definitely don't need to run that all the time. I have the same radiator, and only use it when it's -20 to -30 degrees.

I'd take out the christmas lights too. Just not necessary, and another hazard.
