Like a child at Christmas, we are giddy today....got our first egg!

Almost feel punch drunk, sitting next to the chickens and the buffington was just sitting low to the ground. Then she started making a non-stop cluck fest. We are first timers, so I didn't know if something was wrong. I went to pet her and see if she was in pain. She stood up and left this....

It honestly got us very excited. I mean, it was not like it was a big surprise to find out a chicken laid an egg lol.

Yep, they get larger after a month or so, you might also get some double yolks from time to time before they get to normal size.

Congratulations! the first is always exciting....

That's actually a good size for a first egg. Usually the first couple are smaller and they get bigger as they continue laying. Nice egg for a first tho!!!!
