Lil Hop ALong has no use of legs... is there any hope?

I have a little 3 day old gosling that we are all very attached to. Could this "splayed leg" problem happen to geese too? It seems to scoot, almost as if it is trying to swim in its box, instead of walking. It will get up on its legs for a few seconds, but it is very wobbly, and it usually loses its balance before it can take more than one or two steps. It also tends to tip over onto its back, and not be able to flip back over with out help.
We can't decide if goslings are just wobbly and awkward at first, or if there is a problem. We all adore our little Lucy Goosey, so we want to do what we can for her/him.

Thanks!

Hillbillymom, what kind of bedding are you using? Never use anything slick like newspaper or plain paper... woodchips and shredded paper work best.

I know that when I had my geese, they were still kind of just taking it easy and hobbling around at day 3 of age... not really the best walkers yet. I would try something with that leg if it is sticking out like that though.

The gosling does look to me like it could have splay leg. I'd recommend putting on some tape hobbles on lower legs definitely.
BTW--I'm going back on earlier post & changing it to NOT recommend New Skin. I've just found out (through personal experience) that it stings terribly if the skin is at all raw when you apply it.

i am SO SO sorry!!!!I hope your other chicks don't end up like that!!That is SO SADDENING!!
