Lilly's Life:

Chapter 20

I looked up at my dad. “Where’s mom?” I asked him.
He looked at me, “She took Ginger in. Last thing I know is that she was still waiting.”
“How come I didn’t see you guys up there then?” I asked a bit confused.
“We waited at a different door.”
“Oh….”
“It’s getting pretty dark out. We should probably go roost.”
“But we have to find everyone first.” I said.
“No. Don’t worry about them, you need your rest. The others will come out of hiding once Jaz gets them. They are probably coming now.”
“Wait. Can you sleep inside with me, daddy?” I asked him.
He chuckled, “Sorry, bug. I can’t. I have to watch your mom and the other ladies. You sleep inside with Lacy. Ok?”
I pouted, “Fine.”
I trotted off into the hen house. I was alone in there. I hopped up to the first pole and waited for everyone to start pouring in. I didn’t like the feeling of being alone. Then I heard something outside. I looked down to the entrance of the hen house. “Lacy?”
Then a head popped in. I sighed in relief.
“Lacy!”
“Lils!” Lacy jumped up to the pole I was on and sat next to me. “Man was it crazy! Jaz was scaring me when he told all the hens to go hide except for four strong hens. Hey, I’m strong right? I mean come one… look at these muscles!” She raised her wing to make it look like she had muscles.
I laughed, “Yes, Lacy! You have some big muscles!”
“Yeah! He should have picked me!” She giggled.
This is why I loved Lacy. I loved everything about her! She was an amazing friend!
“Boy!” Lacy exclaimed, “I’m tired! We should go to bed.”
“Wait.” I said, “Where are the others?”
“Outside talking with everyone.”
“Did you see my mom anywhere?”
Her eyes shot opened. “No.”
