Lilly's Life:

Chapter 23

When I got out of the hen house, I was very cautious. I was always looking around for the raccoon. I wanted to tell my mom and dad so I went out to look for them. Lacy was still by my side. I finally spotted them, they were in the garden. It snowed very lightly this morning so we were able to get to the garden.
“Mom! Dad!” I shouted.
Their heads lifted up and smiles appeared on their faces, “Lilly! You’re finally up!” They embraced me.
“I have to tell you guys something.”
Their faces instantly turned to concern, “What is it, dear?” mom asked.
“Uh well, how do I explain this? Well the coon… I think it’s after me….”
“I-I don’t understand.” Mom said.
“I knew you wouldn’t….” I looked away.
“Hun, how do you know it’s after you?”
“Well I think it wants to finish what it started.” Maybe telling them was a bad idea….
“What do you mean?” My mom asked.
“I had a dream about the raccoon chasing me and Lacy thinks I can supposedly see the future. Like that Rose dream.”
Mom nodded her head, “Um, well let’s just keep you safe for the next week or so.”
We all started walking away when I remembered something then I turned around, “Wait, mom?”
She turned around, “Yes?”
“I miss Rose… I want her back.”
“Aww, honey.” She went up to me and hugged me. I felt something wet on my back. My mom was crying.
“Mom, don’t cry.”
“I’m sorry.” She whipped away the tear right away. “How about me and Matt go with you guys. Where you guys headed?”
I looked at Lacy. I gave her a look that said “do you mind if they do?” but she shook her head. Then I looked at mom and smiled, “Sure. We were planning to go under the pine tree, since that’s the only place the snow didn’t cover.”
“Alrighty!” Mom said and we headed towards the pine tree. It was a bit chilly, but I was still warm inside. I was glad Ginger wasn’t around, but that means she’d have to be with Rose. Poor Rose. I frowned at that thought.
“Hey, Lil?” Lacy asked me.
“Yes?”
“Um, I gotta tell you sumfin.”
“Ok, what is it?” I was sorta eager to find out.
She giggled, “Nevermind.”
“Lacy, you brought it up so tell me.”
She giggled again, “Noooooo.”
I was getting a little mad at her now. “Lacy, tell me!” I could feel my face burning up.
She looked around with a grin. “Nevermind I said!” She had anger on her face now.
“Lacy!” Then all the sudden something grabbed her and all I heard was a high-pitched scream.
