Limp and lifeless chick, any ideas?

I had the same thing happen and I lost 2 and have 1 who is getting kinda the same way so about an hour ago I got the chick out and was looking it over and noticed its little butt vent thingy was a little crusty so I started trying to soften it up and clean itand OMG... when I had it softened and was wiping it the little chick wiggled and it was like a volcano of bubbly poop and then a huge mass of it justkept coming out. When it was all out I dabbed a bit of olive oil on the little vent and put the chick in the incubator. Now its chirping and moving around and seems to be somewhat better. Icheckeed the other chicks and found another wiith a little crusty vent so I cleaned it too and same thing...a ton of poop. Anyone else ever washed a baby chicks rear and had this happen? Can they get crusted closed? This is my 2nd batch and these little guys are 4 days old and seemed just fine except for the 2 I lost and the droopy one today? Can they get backed up and die?
