Hello,

My girl Millie has been limping today We were hoping she would come out of it - as this morning she could put weight on it. Tonight I'm sobbing 😭 because now she's limping worse and she's fanning out her wings at times. She has no sores on her feet and nothing feels out of place in her leg. Her foot (right) that she pulls up seems hotter than the other, though.

Here's the best video I could get of her. And a picture of her puffing out her wings. I'll get more photos if you need.

We're going to put her in a dog carrier tonight and for at least the next 10 days. Ours isn't the cage type so I'm hoping that's OK? I can get a picture of that if needed.

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Sapphire Gem, 21 weeks, she weighs the same as the other 4 hens
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Limping, favoring right leg, resting often, trying to stay with flock
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? 12 hours
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. No bleeding, not that we can see
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. No idea
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Eating & drinking normally same as other hens - laying feed, scratch, free-range
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Normal
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Cuddling for a total of 3 hours
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? Do it all ourselves
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Shoop/coop with 3 nesting boxes, roosting ledge, roosting bar, straw (about 4" - 6" thick)

She did give us an egg this morning 🫡

I've dealt with these types of injuries. Please read post #4 in this link:

Upload video to YouTube, Vimeo or similar and post a link here.
Will post the video I have from yesterday. Will get foot & leg photos this morning.

She's in a dog carrier (it's all we've got ☹️) with food & water. The other hens haven't picked on her or been mean - quite the opposite! Yesterday, there was always one with her 🥹
