What is your opinion might be wrong?

My adult female peking began limping 2 days ago.

I see no wound or obvious trauma. For the day before the limp I noticed she wasn't walking around as much as her companion - just staying put on the edge of the pond. (They spend their days on a big pond and come home to sleep in a duck house I have for them at night).

Then day-before-yesterday the limp began.

I kept her contained a bit hoping it's a sprain and it just heals on it's own.

But I'm thinking after 2 days and no improvement it might be an illness. Any thoughts? She seems to eat fine.

I am sorry to hear about your Peking duck :(
But, I think it is just a sprain.
The reason I think this, is due to one of hens limping around on and off, for over a month. I examined her and she had no other symptoms.
After a month, she was not limping anymore, and hasn't since!

If she is eating and drinking normally, I think she will be find with time.

Just keep an eye on her, to make sure no other symptoms appear.

Soft tissue injuries which includes sprains/strains often take more than a week to heal properly. I generally leave birds be for soft tissue injuries as they tend to heal fine on their own. NSAID's such as aspirin can often be helpful for reducing any current inflammation in the leg. Setting her in water regularly if she is not doing so on her own can also help reduce inflammation.

It's been a week and she's still sitting on the water - won't come off the pond and now she's not eating. Now the other duck (I have 2 of them) who was healthy seems to be coughing. What in the world is going on???

Could you try to get the duck unwilling to eat off the pond, and place her somewhere, warm, and quiet? After she is settled in, try offering her some warm electrolyte fluids, and then see if she will try any of her favorite treats, or their poultry feed moistened down.

If the other duck is still coughing, could you post a video of him as well?

Thank you - I'm sorry I didn't reply - she immediately got better and stopped coughing. The look with the weak leg finally died.

The pond is VERY VERY low. I couldn't find any lesions on her foot so I don't think it was Bubblefoot.

I think she caught something bad from the pond.

The other duck is now in my fenced in area and has been doing well with my baby ducklings.

Today, however, she's acting a little lethargic. I'll watch and see.
