My male Pekin has developed a bad limp when on land and when in the pond is only using one leg to swim. I know they are prone to leg problems but I want to help him out or at least make his discomfort less. Any suggestions?

I would bring him into the tub, with lukewarm water deep enough to float in. And I would watch him closely, see what I can see.

I would also:

closely examine his feet for bumblefoot
feel for heat, or swollen joints
listen for popping noises when he moves his leg
give him Epsom salts compresses in any case
if bumblefoot, slather on antibiotic ointment (no painkiller) twice a day
keep him in a clean, quiet place with fresh water and food for a couple of days
give him lukewarm bath time at least once a day for a couple of days
see how it goes

Hydrotherapy takes weight off the leg, increases circulation and helps stretch and tone muscles.

He may just have a sprain. It still takes several days to get over that kind of thing.

Epsom salt soaks this stuff is amazing for sprains and lots of rest for him. If he's like mine he will re injure trying to keep up with the rest of the flock.
