A day ago when I went out to feed the flock for the morning, i noticed one of my Brahma cockerels (a little over 4months old ) limping pretty badly. He also is acting kinda lethargic, and wanted to lay down frequently. He is putting weight on the leg a little bit, but does not want to move around alot. I looked at both legs and felt them and didn't notice any obvious swelling or bones being out of place. His feet looked fine too, so i don't think its bumble foot. When he does stand it seems like he's got one hip cocked to the side and is hunched over, so it makes me wonder if he managed to mess his hip up somehow. I don't have very high roosts, since the flock is primarily Brahmas, so he must have ran into a wall or a feeder to injure himself. His poops looked a little weird this moring too, really yellow compared to the rest of the flock
I've read that limping might be a sign of Mareks, but he's not paralyzed, and his eyes react to light normally. He's also eating and drinking, at least when i got out there, and still wants treats when i bring out the meal worms.
I haven't dealt with an injury before, and could use some advice on how to get him on the road to recovery. Would it be a good idea to separate him from the flock? are there any pain medications i could give him? Unfortunately there are no poultry vets around where i am, so that's not an option.
I'd appriciate any help or advice. Thanks
