I have a red ranger female (I think) 14 weeks old approximately 5-6 lbs (big estimate on my part) that just started limping today while ranging. I picked her up, felt the leg, checked for bleeding, bumps, abnormalities and didn't see or feel anything. She was limping so badly that I finally carried her back to the coop and secured her in there. I am raising my red rangers for eggs and not meat. She's really big, but no eggs yet. Her legs look sturdy. Any idea why she is limping or what I can do?

If I'd seen this sooner I would have advised that she may have just twisted or strained something, as humans do sometimes. Did it improve on its own, or has it got worse?

If it is just a twist or sprain she will heal on her own but look to see if there is a cut on her leg as it might be hurting her and could get infected.
