My 20 week old SS started holding up her right leg and limping around two days ago. I'm hoping that she just strained it or something, she's eating, drinking, acting normal except for not putting any weight on the foot. She still roosted last night. I couldn't see anything wrong with it, though it did hurt her when I touched her foot. Any suggestions???

does sound like she hurt herself. Restrict her movement until she is better, if necessary take her inside so she can be warm and clam if the others are picking on her.

did you check the bottom of her feet she may have bumble foot, theres alot of great threads on here about it and how to treat it. Google custom search close to the top of right side of this page.

I would not separate her if you can avoid it. Reintegration if she's out for a week or two can be worse than a sore leg. If they're not attacking her, of course.

Definitely check for bumblefoot, though.

Here's hoping it's just a strain or the like and she will be fine.

Tonight she is not perching with her sisters

The others are not picking on her (I only have 3 total). And today she actually laid her first egg! So I know that she isn't feeling too stressed about the injury. I will just continue to monitor...and I will look up bumble foot....Thanks!
