she is about 1 yr old but no signs of blood or cuts or even a broken foot-i am wondering if it is that bumblefoot i have read about

poor thing

i have 2 chickens they both are are going to being treated tomorrow for leg mites (thanks BYC! that treatment is the best!)

the one has been limping 2 weeks and was wondering what is best

it is very cold here we let them out weather permitting in the day and keep them in the garage in a clean pen at night

thanks for any FB

Check the bottom of the feet for a scab.

Check all of your roosts and look for any spot, (nail etc..) along the roost that could break the skin of the foot. Most common cause of bumble foot. Get rid of the hazard! I covered all of my with duct tape.

If it is bumble foot, do a search in the emerg. section and follow the directions.

It took my 14 year old son two weeks of constant treatmetn and dressing on one foot, but the foot on our white rock healed.

Good luck.

PS: I like to spray my girls legs and fee with PAM. Kills leg mites.

thanks for the PAM suggestion-what a great idea!

her foot doesnt have any cuts on it at all and the toes and leg are straight but her pad between her 3 feet looks a bit red. We havent changed anything in over a year except they are staying indoors more because of the bitter cold maybe it is the dampness? will try and keep the indoor cage dry-not easy! you know how much they "poop" lol

but still thanks i appreciate the reply alot
