Limping Chicken

I was able to make her a cast yesterday and casted her foot and leg. I will make sure to change it out daily. Or should I leave it a couple days then change it? She still seems happy, and is still eating.

Update on my chicken. I found chicken casts for broken legs/ ankles. Hopefully in a couple weeks she will be better

Update: I took leg leg brace/cast off today to look at her foot/ankle. Not much change, she seems to have a heck of time holding her balance constantly. She doesn’t want to stand up even on her good leg. She sits on her knees/hocks. She is still eating and drinking and pooping. We are going on a month now, any ideas? Should I just take her to the vet? I started asprin again today, should I try some corrid or antibiotics? I feed her lots of shells and scrambled eggs along with poly vi sol without iron and vitamin B. I put her back on her medicated chick food. She is now 3 months old. I still have her crated and take her out at night and sit with her to eat grass. I am at a loss at this point??????

I'm sorry she's not improving:hugs

Hard to know what's going on with her. Leg bone deformity, Marek's disease.
I would not give her shells. Chick starter, scrambled egg and B-Complex (2-3 times a week).

I am going to make a vet appointment tomorrow, I normally wouldn’t but i adore her so much and she is such a sweet bird, I just want to know what’s wrong and if I can even help her. Why not egg shells? I was trying to make sure she had her calcium intake.

Hope the vet visit helps!

The feed already has sufficient Calcium for growing chicks. She's 3 months old, so doesn't need a lot of Calcium like an actively laying hen does.

I figured I would post an update for my little mohawk. We ended up putting her down on Thursday 6/18/20. She had lost movement in her other leg as well over the week. The vet did an ultrasound and said he seen no tumors, but he did say everything pointed to Marek's or a neurological disorder. She was a very sweet chicken and will be missed. Our coop has been sanitized just in case and hoping no one else gets sick.
