One of my ducks, Bee, is limping. She was fine this morning, but we noticed that at around dinner time she was hobbling around on one foot. I looked and the foot itself looked okay, she has one little brown spot on the bottom of it about the size of a poppy seed. I soaked her in epsom salt, pulled the tiny dot out, and disinfected it just so be safe in case it was bumblefoot. the interesting thing she has is that at the base of her toe where the nail grows there were these hard, small, black spurs coming out, almost like tiny nails coming from the big nail. I also pulled and disinfected these, and wasn’t able to get a picture of it as she was very stressed. I’m still not sure if these are the problem, they were both so small so I’m not sure if she hurt her ankle/leg, or what. I’m a first time duck owner so I don’t have a lot of experience to go off of, any thoughts about what it is/what I could do? Thanks all!
