Limping...laid an egg on the roost

I would say she has yawned 10 times today. It's 10.50am here. Usually does 2 or 3 in a row. The open mouth breathing has also just started, it's getting warm so could be that.

How often does she yawn?

I find my girls do that after eating to adjust their crops. Have you observed any patterns like that?

Hopefully it's just that. I will keep an eye on her and the crop. I haven't noticed it before, but I did see another one of the girls doing it yesterday, so maybe they do it and I've never noticed. Fingers crossed. I think it's easy to see things when they are right in front of you all day.

In hot weather some signs of heat stress is panting & holding their wings out. Shade is important. Tarps over the run help greatly. Wetting a area in the run for cool mud helps. Chickens expel heat thru their feet shallow pans of cool water helps greatly too. I don’t know your setup but hanging misters are wonderful. Treats (fruits & vegetables chopped) frozen into ice (could use a plastic pitcher) then placed in a pan is a beneficial for hydration.

Thank you so much, she is inside with us in the Aircon so not sure if she would be hot today?
We have a double garage we leave open for the girls and we have a mister which they don't love, but it seems to cool a large area. We have a tarp over the run too. I need to start freezing some treats, great idea. We always have watermelon and cucumber on hand during our terribly hot summers. The humidity is awful, I do feel sorry for the girls. She's still gaping/stretching the neck or not?

Yes the crop felt hard (full?) This morning. She is still stretching her neck, not all the time but a little and a bit of open mouth breathing even when inside in the a/c.

So which is it? The crop is full in the morning or not?
