Hello all,
My barred rock started not wanting to use her right leg/limping yesterday. I came home to her hopping around on it. She holds it out front of her while moving, and she lays with it kinda out to the side. She's still eating/drinking and going outside into the run etc, just isn't quite as active due to not using her leg. Upon inspection, nothing feels broken, no swelling, no bumblefoot etc. She isn't roosting on the bars because of the way she lays her leg, she wants to lay with it out from underneath of her. I'll attempt to post a video and picture to help!
TIA!

Does she hold the leg up and hop, or is she trying to put weight on it? Does it seem asleep or numb? How old is she, and was she vaccinated for Mareks? Have you added any new birds to your flock recently? If you can get some human super B complex tablets, try giving her 1/4-1/2 tablet each day crushed and dissolved in food or a spoonful of water.

She tries to put weight on it at first, and then ends up holding it out in front of her and hopping. She has reflexes when I move it/bend it etc. She's been vaxxed and I haven't brought any new birds into the flock in a few months. She was a spring chick so born in April roughly.

Could you take a clear picture of her legs standing in case there is a leg bone deformity or slipped tendon issue? Mareks still could be a problem, but hopefully not, since it could affect your others.

This is about the best I could get, she holds it out in front of her, and when she tries to put weight on it she tries to keep it straight out so she just ends up laying on it.
