good day all
Looking for a little advice. I have a year old Rhode Island Red (Lucifer) rooster who has a bit of a wobbly leg. He has had it for a long time, and it almost seems like he is double jointed. When he walks his right leg bows out to the side at the joint. He is still eating, drinking, running around and is still the dominant rooster out of the 2 roosters we have.
However it seems to be getting worst, it seems swollen. Just wondering if anyone has heard of anything like this or if there are any suggestions as to how we could help him.

Sounds like possibly a tendon injury. Not sure if you can do much for him. Have you checked it for breaks or dislocation?

Thanks for your reply. I don’t think it’s broke, and not sure about a dislocation. It is just swollen around the joint (it is hard) and he walks on it. It bends outward when he puts weight on it

So finally here are some good pictures of my handsome man!

He is cute. Looks like varus defomity of the leg, but I am an amateur. If it affects both legs, it looks like bow legs or ricketts. Here is a similar photo by Miss Pearl of BYC:
