Hi everybody! I am in 4-H and all of our chickens (47) are kept at a farm together in a coop and run. Two days ago we noticed one of the EE's was seriously favoring one leg and limping. The only reason we found her was because I went to pick her up (she was sitting on a perch) and when I put her down she limped slowly. She sits on perches or the ground most of the time, while the other pullets dust bathe or scratch or something. So we flipped her over. My first thought was BUMBLEFOOT but upon further inspection there just wasn't any swelling in a particular area or any redness. She never pulled away when we touched her foot. Her leg and hip looks normal. BUT when we put her down, we noticed her middle toe was swelling and bending a little. It's her left foot, the one with the silver band.
For some reason I didn't get pics of the bottom of her foot. What do you guys think? What are some treatment options? I can get more pics if you want. She's about 14 weeks old.Currently we are soaking once daily in warm water and epsom salts.
Thank you!!
