My rooster has been limping for about four days. At first I wasn't sure if he was limping because he sometimes does this side-step kind of walk toward me like he's threatening me. I've noticed that it's becoming more pronounced and today when he ran he reminded me of a horse cantering, like how I used to do when I was a kid and wanted a horse. Is there a way that I can examine him to see what's wrong? What do I look for or what am I supposed to feel? He's a buff orpington and is only 22 weeks old. And he's my only roo, so I really don't want to lose him.

He might have bumblefoot, check the bottom of his feet for a dark round scab on his footpad.

Thank you! I'll check asap. I'm new to chickens so I want to do what's best for them. I never thought that I'd get this attached to my chickens.
