Limping rooster

I'm sorry you lost a pullet and that your cockerel is limping.

Did you ever get the official report back from the vet get the name of the rare tumor that was found? https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/can-mareks-autopsies-be-wrong.1261612/

I would be inclined to think the limping and possibly the death of the pullet may be related, but you would need to get a diagnosis from your state lab.
Getting a fecal float and gram stain will rule out worms, coccidiosis and infection.

It's possible your cockerel has a sprain, but Marek's or Avian Lymphoid Leukosis comes to mind. I would give him supportive care of B-Vitamins and see that he is getting enough protein.
No I did not get a report back just that it was rare neoplasm and not Mareks. Yes I thought it could be related too that is why I am concerned. Thanks for your post He is not stumbling how the pullet was though. She seemed to just waste away but he is still eating and interested in food today.

A video of him walking posted on YouTube with a link here might be good to see. Mareks disease can cause tumors. Just wondering if your chicken that died from suspected Mareks was necropsied by your state vet, or local vet, and did they do actual Mareks testing on feather shafts or on the tumor? Hopefully, this is just an injury, but there have been false negative tests for Mareks.
The body was sent away not sure where but there was a specialist there at the time of the necropsy and I am sure they tested the tumour because when my vet took the call who ever did the testing did more than what I paid for because he was interested in what he saw,That is how the diagnosis came back as a rare neoplasm not Mareks. The vet said it would have cost a lot more if I had paid for what he did

Update took him to the vet today she thought it was looking like Mareks sadly. He was not walking today. Had him put to sleep. She did an autopsy there where tumours in his liver mainly consistent with Mareks or Leukosis. Non of the my other chickens has any symptoms I have about 40. Very sad news RIP Gregory Peck xx

Update he was euthanized today when I took him to the vet she thought it looked like Mareks he was not walking today. Got a call back from autopsy tumours in his liver consistent with Mareks or Leukosis. Very sad news.
