Hi everyone. I noticed a few days ago that my hen is limping. now it seems to be getting worse and now I can notice that her right foot is actually getting swollen. I'm including a picture of both the foot and the bottom of her foot. I do not see any open wounds on her foot there's just a little dirt there.

The middle of the bottom of the swollen foot looks like there is a bumble foot going on. Give that foot a good soak in epsom salts or warm soapy water and clean it off real well. If there is a scab/lesion under that dirt then it's bumble foot and you will need to treat it. It's usually a staph infection, and all the pus needs to be cleaned out. Chicken pus is firm, not runny, like hard cheese. This is how I approach all bumble foot initially (see link below). This can take some time to clear up depending on how large/deep it goes.

Looks like an abcess (bumblefoot) to me too. It shouldn't feel like fractured toes, but a lump instead.
Soaking in warm soapy water may help, lancing it and bandaging, antibiotics (very few approved!) may be needed.
Ouch!

Thank you everyone. I so tore foot and after the dirt was removed I was able to see the bumblefoot blister. I was able to remove it I banded her up and center on her way to bed.

You may have to clean it out several times before it's totally healed. Keeping iodine, triple antibiotic ointment without (it's toxic for chickies) pain reliever on hand would be a good plan in the coming days!

I hope your lovey heals quickly! :fl
