We have a three or four year old Bourbon Red Tom. It’s always been super social and we let him roam our property, but was getting too friendly with our dogs and risking his life so we confined him to his pen. Since then (about 1 month). he has seemed a bit depressed and hasn’t been moving around much. The past few days he has gotten worse. He will barely stand and isn’t eating or drinking. He also seems to have diarrhea. Please help!

He needs a friend. All birds do. Treat him for shock and get him a friend that won't pick on him.

Nutridrench is good for vitamins in the water. Try feedin him cooked eggs, high protein things, yogurt, , mealworms, wet his food into a mash kinda, soft stuff he may like and snarf down. But make sure they are good for him things not junky treats.

And yes he does need a friend! Most animals are social beings that need a friend or three to live. By penning him you took him “family” away from him.
