Lingering Doubts

About the last mystery chick with the blue head:
Her head is blue, with yellow coming out on her neck more and more.
It looks golden yellow and blue in the sun.

Someone guessed when she was a chick that she was a BLRW....but she does not look very BLRW to me. Not enough B not enough L...too much W?

BLRW stands for Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. She's definitely not one though. She could be a mix of sorts, possibly with some game. I really love her coloring!

How about some more and better photos? What is she???

OK now I am super curious, anyone want to take a guess with the new photos?

Edited because I forgot to add that she is a banty...

Looks like she has a rose comb... Her body shape is very similar to Wyandottes', so perhaps she's a bantam Wyandotte, with mixed colors. She could have BLR, possibly buff, I don't think there's a White Laced Red Wyandotte (someone correct me if there is one). I'm pretty sure she's not pure BLR because their "underfluff" is bluish gray (even with poor HQ birds) and hers is red/white.

Another idea is she could be sex linked (females red with white leakage), if her father carried two recessive gold alleles the her mother carried one dominant silver allele. There are a few Wyandotte crosses that can be red sexlinked. (For example, a Golden Laced Wyandotte male over a Columbian female, or a Partridge male over a Silver Penciled or Silver Laced female.)

A cream legbar, perhaps? I've seen a picture of one that looked similar, but never actually met one.

Well she is from the bin at Atwoods, so I don't think they would have anything too exotic or rare..I'm pretty sure she came from Ideal...she is from September 2011 which makes her 6 months or so old...

i dont see anything on ideals site that looks like her....have you asked the people were you got ger from were they get their chicks and if they tell you which hatchery you can send them a pic and ask them what she is...the best guess i can give after looking through their selection is a possable ee

x2 - I got a strange banty chick from Ideal last year that I could not identify - looked like a red frizzle japanese. It died at about three motnhs and still had hardly any feathers! Sometimes I think a rooster jumps the pen and you get a strange mix...your bird has the comb, yellow legs and shape of a wyandotte, and they sell banty wyandottes. I think she's some kind of accidental wynadotte mix.
