Lining outside of run

Hello everyone, I've used this forum for a lot of info and am finally posting my own question! I'm setting up my run which will be attached to the barn where I've converted an old stall into a coop. I know it's suggested to have an apron outside of the fence. I don't have any more welded wire but I do have plenty of large rock/bricks/cinder blocks. If I lined the fence with these would that be sufficient? I also have a bunch of wooden lattice if that would be any use?

I think the rocks would work. I have a ton of rocks and I use them at the base of the fence both inside and outside of the run. My ground is very rocky so I think that should be good. If your ground is not that rocky you could dig trench and put the rocks in it.
