Hey all,

I have recovered a link that leads to Don's old website...the links on it don't lead to other pages, but this is a start:

http://web.archive.org/web/20071010001856/http://ifi-us.com/sunnycreekfarms.htm

ETA: LINK TO NEW SITE: http://sunnycreekfarms.zxq.net

Bookmark this in case anyone out there needs it for reference, he sells and services many makes and models of incubators. Hopefully the site will be fully recovered. Oh yes, and he also is a hatchery, so he has many types of birds for sale as well.

Hi, thanks for posting that link. I'm from MN and I never knew this guy existed. At least his phone number is on the page. What happened to his website? It would be great to have a local source for chicks and waterfowl. I got a pair of Giant Dewlap Toulouse geese from a man in Shakopee about 5 years ago, I wanted to get another pair, but can't find his name again. Maybe I can get some from this guy. bj

Well, he had someone design and host it for him and it went down suddenly for no reason that he has been able to find out. He's been trying to find out why but has not heard back from them. I'm going to try and do what I can to get him back up and running.

Does anyone know of a good web hosting service for reasonable cost? I lost a website that I had of probably a few thousand pages to a host that went AWOL with no notice at all, so I feel his pain. My site was a 7+ year project of mine that went poof with no notice or explanation whatsoever.

I have one here in Arkansas. She's pretty good and quick. She's reasonable and she hosts our company website. I'm going to have her do mine as well. It's either 30 or 60 a year to host. I know that's a big difference, sorry I can't remember off hand. If you're interested in them pm me.

Remember, backups are important. If you have a web site, there is no reason that you can't have a copy of the pages on your home computer, or stored on a flash drive. If you do it as new pages are added or old ones are edited, it won't take too much time.

check with your internet provider. most providers offer free user websites. Mine (Cox.net) gives me 2 personal websites of up to 10mb each. If I need more there is a very small charge for more space.

Got one, but thanks for the info!

The official URL for the site is now http://sunnycreekfarms.zxq.net

Lots of Humidaire, Petersime, Jamesway and Natureform stuff in stock. Don also has a Marsh Cyclonic incubator in and also Aqua-Magic automatic egg washers. Different stuff coming in all the time.

I will edit the top of the original post to reflect the new web address. Don is not the designer of the old website, he had it done by someone but it disappeared off the web one day on him. He deals more in telephone than computer stuff so he didn't know where to begin.

On second thought, I am just going to have my husband call him because I really want one of those Humidaire incubators. I wish he would make sells online or post the prices. It would make things easier.

He's working on getting a price list together, but part of the problem is, he's coming into his busy season right now and so it will be constantly changing. I think he is getting together a price list of the stuff he has most and most often...the sales online I don't know about. Don works better with the phone than the computer, and he has so many makes, models and parts, plus his own experience with his and others' birds, that I think he feels he can better serve people by being able to tell them himself. Don pretty much *is* the business. Speaking strictly for myself, I feel I have picked up some interesting and obscure tidbits through talking to him that I might never have come across even after hours of reading through whatever I can find on the web...there is a lot of history, technique and knowledge that he has simply because he's been in the business for over 60 years. I found out something I didn't know about talking with him today. I know it can be frustrating...we all just want to jump right onto the web, look it up and get it ordered quick! But I know I have personally found that there are things to be gained this way too. For one, he is available 24/7/365 to help people troubleshoot incubator problems. I don't know if there is anyone else who does that. Hard enough to get help in the middle of the night if something goes wrong with some part of your house!

Happy hatching...I am sure he will do his best to help you with what you are looking for!

He told me some things that I never would have guessed about my model 21H hatcher that also weren't in the owner's manual.
