I noticed in the terms of use that links to other forums are not allowed. The site is wonderful and will eventually be full of good information but it will never take the place of some of the breed specific forums, such as the guinea forum we frequently refer new guinea owners to.

Yes, there is a few guinea owners but as a group we do not possess the wealth of knowledge that can be found on that other board.

One of the great things about the BYC ezboard site is the ability to go there, ask a question and someone will ultimately post a link to help guide the person to help. Please rethink this decision.

Hey Robin,

For the most part, 99% of the rules on this board were just copied over from the other board. the only difference is the request that if you post a link to your own site, that you return the favor with a link back to BYC and/or the forum.

The area is a gray one since it is hard to differentiate people simply advertising their own sites / products vs. genuine helpful links to other sites.

In general, there is no rule against linking to other sites... in fact, it is something everyone should do as long as the posted link is within the context of the forum topic.

So, feel free to post to helpful information! No one site will have everything everyone needs (even though BYC is going to keep trying)!
