Lion & Pheasant Chick... Picture....

My pheasants decided to breed early, mid Dec 2009... out of 30 eggs... I only got one Firtle.. The chick is doing fine and has a stuffed animal to keep him warm... wanted to share...

You see... Lions and Pheasants can get along.

I just wanted to know why their are wood shavings in the brooder, the chick might eat it and die.
I believe straw is better than shavings.

I use wood shavings everytime... Straw would get stinky too quick I would think...

You may need to have quite a few stuffed animals on hand.

You should post that pic on random ramblings and have fellow bycers submit a caption for it. I hope you don't mind my posting a pic too. My single lavender cochin has slept with a stuffed animal for the past 4 mos. lol
