And I wasn't condemning you personally, just so you know. Am also deep country. But many have been posting online here abt their raptor eradication prowess. If you're (royal you're ) going to do something like that you don't post it online.

Well I wouldn’t brag. But your right. Very right. The Sheriffs did a drug raid. Guess what the perps got the most time for. Two owls in their freezer!!! The gossip around town was they wanted the feathers to make dream catchers....now SEE that really bothers me. To waste a animal for arts and crafts. I like that Letter Of The Law.And I wasn't condemning you personally, just so you know. Am also deep country. But many have been posting online here abt their raptor eradication prowess. Nah. I might a lose one bird a year if that to hawks. I have mostly Cooper’s hawks and red tails. The coopers are the worst because they can cut down through the trees like a wood duck. The red tails can’t do that as well and generally need to be more out in the open. I’ve had a few eagles fly around pretty low and I had a northern goshawk really harassing them once. Why do I get the feeling this is a setup?
Yep that’s how it goes. When you shoot this one. Skin it. It’s not hard.Holy Crap & WTF. I look out my window and what do I see? Another fox! ..... not near my coop but 100 yards out. It ran away before I could take care of it. I looked it up and it says they dont travel in packs. Hens are locked up and safe but I cant let them out in the container free range area until I get this guy. WTF
So my girls started making a weird screaming noise that I could hear from inside my house that I never heard before. I look out the window and witness a fox trying to find a way into the hen house circling the enclosure. Foxes are very smart and eventually it would find a way in. I sprint upstairs, get my rifle and with 1 shot I take it out. Life is real. I decided 10 hens lives was worth more than 1 fox. Am I right? Well, there is no real answer to that. I rather not but I rather than.
They normally split up on roosting bars. This is the first night they have forced themselves together.

Skin the second one and just leave the carcass. If you mess it up no big deal since you’re just pitching em anyway. Good time to learn.Got'em #2 is handled. I took fox #1 and put him in the middle of my yard as bait.... hear me out. Buzzards came to pick at it. Fox #2 slowly creeped out of the woods to try and grab a buzzard. 120 yards from my back porch I took him out. I will now leave them in the same spot get buzzards tomorrow and see if we have anymore.... I will do this for a few days before I let the hens out again.
