Listing pulled--gonna wait for eggs instead...

The bird in the photo is a Leghorn

Whatever he is, he can't stay. Guess we need to talk to the place we bought him from as he was billed as a female and an Ameraucana.

Ouch! Where did you get him from? Who told you that it was an Ameraucana???? I can understand getting a male when you are being sold a female as nobody is 100% everytime with that. BUT an "Ameraucana?" - not even close. I really would like to hear how that happened.

Sorry that happened to you.

God Bless,

Is he crowing?... doing the dance with the ladies?

He looks alot like a light brown leghorn hen I used to have.

No crowing or other "behavior" yet, but we can see the spurs developing on his legs. One of our hens is very attached to him as they were raised together from chick-hood--so far it's been platonic only. He came from a farm and feed store locally--one of many chicks, so he probably ended up in the wrong bin with Ameraucanas. This is our first foray into backyard chickens, so we didn't know any better.

I don't know, I'd probably keep him until he starts crowing....

We figure it's only when he gets crowing that the neighbors might get a little annoyed--but we need to figure out a new home situation for when that happens! Plus we don't want fertile eggs or too much barnyard action going on...

... and that is exactly why I told them to keep it until it started crowing.....
